Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his initial title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 victories at 21 distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring outbursts on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
