Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
